There are many festivals in India and on these festivals we keep fasts too.In some of these fasts (Vrat), we only eat Falahari food and only use rock salt.
So, I am presenting a method of making delicious and nutritious fasting food for all of you and hope that you will love it and will definitely comment your thoughts.
उपवास का खाना / व्रत का खाना / फलहारी खाना
भारत में त्योहारों की बहार है और इन त्योहारों पर हम व्रत भी रखते हैं।
इनमें से कुछ व्रत ऐसे भी होते है जिसमें हम अन्न नहीं खाते , फलाहार वह सेंधा नमक का सेवन करते हैं।
तो उसी क्षृखला में मैंने आप सब के लिए स्वादिष्ट और पौष्टिक व्रत का खाना बनाने की विधि पेश कर रही हूं और आशा करती हूं कि आप बेहद पसंद करेंगे और अपने विचार जरूर बतायेगें।

Aloo Peanut Tikki
Crispy and delicious patties to eat while fasting. Shallow fried peanut coated mashed Potato and Cottage cheese Tikki with two type of sauces.
Green Grapes Chutney
SAMA AND SAGO IDLI WITH COCONUT CHUTNEY (Special for Vrat )
Soaking time - 9 hours
Preparation time -10 minutes
Cooking time - 45 minutes
Makes - 4 servings
Ingredients
For idli
- Moraiyo rice /Sama rice / Samak rice / barnyard Millet -1 cup
- Sabudana 1/2 cup
- Salt to taste
- Baking soda - 1/4 teaspoon (optional)
- Buttermilk - 1 1/4 cup
For tempering the idli
- Fresh coconut -1/4 cup
- Green chilies - 3
- Ginger - 1"
- Clarified butter - 2 teaspoon
- Peanut oil - 1 teaspoon
RAW BANANA DAHI VADA
Raw banana food is very beneficial for your health. It contains Potassium, Vitamin C, Vitamin B6, Minerals etc.
The fiber contained in it keeps our intestines clean.
Also, the starch present in it is useful for health.

Ingredients
For Vada
- Raw banana - 4
- Jimikand/Suran ( yam) - 200 gms
- Green chili - 3
- Ginger-1 inch piece
- Red chili 1/2 teaspoon
- Roasted cumin powder -1/2 teaspoon
- Salt to taste
- Rajgiri flour (Amarnath)- 3 tablespoon
DRY MANGO CHUTNEY RECIPE \ MEETHI CHUTNEY RECIPE
These days even while fasting there are so many dishes to eat from the spicy Sabutana kofta to the delicious Dahi bade...but usually, we eat them with either green chutney or curd but today I have made sweet chutney for you, which can also be eaten during fast. So now include it in the list of items you can't wait to eat during a fast.
Ingredients
- Amchoor Powder (Dry Mango Powder) -1/2 Cup
- Grated / Mashed Jaggery - 1/2 cup
- Roasted Cumin Powder -1/2 teaspoon
- Red Chili Powder -1/2 teaspoon
- Black Pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Rock Salt - to taste
POTATO RAITA RECIPE( ALOO KA RAITA)
Raita can be made in many different ways and today we will prepare potato raita, it is made from boiled potatoes. You can eat this raita during fast.
Potassium, Protein, Minerals, and Vitamin-C etc. are found in boiled potatoes, so enjoy healthy Potato Raita: -
Try this delicious coconut laddu recipe at home. It is very easy and has always been everyone's favorite. when almonds are mixed in Coconut Ladoo the taste is just incredible.

- Homemade Condensed Milk - 300 grams
- Almonds ( cut into small pieces) - 30 pieces
- Dry coconut ( grated) - 2 1/2 cups
- Ghee - 1 teaspoon
GAJAR KA HALWA / CARROT HALWA
This is an Indian sweet, which is specially made in the winter on festivals and special occasions. It is a simple dessert made from Carrots, milk, ghee, and sugar, which are liked by everyone.
However, nowadays, we all want to make quick halwa, but today we will make this halwa just like our grandmother used to make. We will cook carrot with milk in a heavy bottom embroidery (Kadhai), which will give us all the properties of carrot and milk. I have not used milkmaid or milk powder in halwa. Believe me, this halwa is also rich in nutrition. Eat a limited quantity and enjoy it on every special occasion.

Our summers are empty without our beloved ice cream..but for all of us who are trying to eat healthily, it can be a problem because of all the condensed milk, whipped cream, sugar, preservatives etc. Present in an ice cream and these extra calories are not good for our health.
But what if I tell you that you can keep the taste and remove the extra calories...So, today we make ice cream from curd.
