Moong Dal Fritters (Without Fry)

Moong dal pakoras/ Moong vada are always eaten with great passion in rainy and winter season, it can also be a healthy breakfast if you don't fry them. This is a very famous north Indian breakfast, which I have made without frying them and served with tamarind Chutney and Coriander Chutney.
The best feeling is to take care of our family and feed them with delicious healthy food.

Total Time -          40 Minutes

Ingredients



  • Moong Dal (Yellow split dal)- 1 1/4 cup
  • Dry red chilli - 2
  • Coriander seeds - 1 teaspoon
  • Fennel - 1 teaspoon
  • Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
  • Finely chopped onion - 3
  • Garlic cloves - 15 to 20
  • Fresh red chilli - 4 to 5
  • Asafoetida - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Salt to taste
  • Lemon juice - 1 Tablespoon
  • Oil - 4 Tablespoon



How to make


First wash the lentils thoroughly and keep it soaked for 4 to 5 hours.
After about 5 hours, take out the lentil's water.
Now fry the fennel, coriander, cumin and dry chilli on the pan, grind the dough in the mixer and keep it aside.


Grind garlic, red chilli and lentils in a mixer.


Mix well lentil paste, powdered coriander-cumin masala, finely chopped onion, salt, lemon juice and baking soda in a vessel.
Put oil on the Appe pen and put it on medium heat.
Slice the paste, fill in every mould of the Appe pan and then add 2-2 drops of oil.


After 3-4 minutes turn them around and put 2-2 drops of oil.

Serve with sweet sauce and green chutney when it turns crunchy on both the sides.
